Dolphins Make Early Appearance At Loch Fyne

Loch Fyne had early visitors yesterday (19th March 2009) as a significant number of dolphins spent the afternoon between Portavadie and Tarbert playing along side boats and possibly feeding in the area.

The dolphins had followed the ferry from Arran northwards along Loch Fyne and then spent the whole day until 7pm at the mouth of Tarbert Harbour before heading off back down the west side of Loch Fyne.

It is not unusual for dolphins and basking sharks to be seen in Loch Fyne and at the Sound Of Arran but certainly this early in the year was an unexpected surprise.

The beautiful spring day and glorious setting was perfect.
